Four SHRIMPs are located in RSES. SHRIMP I is the original instrument built from around 1977 to 1981. Following the success of SHRIMP I, the commercial prototype SHRIMP II was built. SHRIMP RG uses a different design to the other SHRIMPs and is intended for ultrahigh mass resolution. SHRIMP SI is the latest instrument and is a dedicated stable isotope machine.
